The red sunset 3
"It's ok sis",my brother said as he helped me get up. Let's go to my room. I followed him gently. I could see tears in his eyes. I knew being the eldest child of the family was not easy for him. I shared his grief because we were all close to our mom. "You can sit on the bed",he said as he opened the door. For the first time since my mom's death I smiled without being forced to. The room was still messy. It was mom who made sure he tidy up his room. The room was full of his paintings and other art works with his dresses flying all over the room."Brother James",I shouted in my mom's voice. Will you tidy up your room for your mama. He let out a smile in the midst of tears. "Do you remember the books mom wrote ",he asked after wiping his tears. I started reading it yesterday and I found clues. I found out that the book is about mom just that she twisted it in such a way that no one will know it's about her. Did she give you any book on your birthday? "Yes", I replied. It's her latest book about to be published. She gave me a time to start reading it. "Which date", he asked with much interest . "My birthdate", I replied. Looks like everything revolves around my birthday. "That's when dad was announced the head of all security departments or so ",he said. Our biological mother died on that day, remember? It just surprising how they both died on the same day with the same date. "Ehn bro when will we tell Awusi and Daniel that we are their step-sibilings and that mom is not our biological mother?I asked. They need to know. He looked straight into my eyes then looked away. "Sis I am tired", he replied.
