Mia got up. Everything was blurry, she reached out to her side table and picked up her glasses. She turned to her right to see the beautiful view from the huge window. Blue seas and the bright sunlight falling onto the sand making it look like golden glitter. That was, afterall the only thing that made her smile once in a while. You see, Mia was a very successful singer. She was very wealthy too... but she wasn't happy. All the fame and money but no one to talk to. She drifted away from her parents years ago..The day she told them she didn't want to become an architect and follow their footsteps. No real friend..all snakes. All that was left now were her fans, who she appreciated but after sometime it became all too overwhelming for her. That's why she was here, in her secret mansion no one knew about. On a small piece of land she owned, a small island. The only people who knew about this was her personal yacht skipper and the two house caretakers. There was no network here which meant no notifications which meant Mia had the best times of her life here.
She wasn't so happy today, she had to go back to the city, the people she didn't like, the traffic, the- "STOP it Mia! You don't need more of this." she said to herself. She decided to get ready, then headed downstairs to eat her breakfast. Mia specifically told the cook to not make anything fancy since she had motion sickness.
With her luggage she stepped outside. The skipper and yacht were both here. She walked till there and as soon as she was about to step inside the skipper Sam said "Miss Mia, I suggest you stay here till everything is resolved. There is a sudden unexpected pandemic and 95% of the people have been infected. I am lucky enough to have not caught the disease." Concerned she asked "How many are alive?" "Everyone who got infected is. That's another factor puzzling the few scientists unaffected. They think it's some sort of apocalypse." "Take me there! Please! You can come back here and stay here for your safety, just drop me there I need to check on my parents."
I know I'm keeping unwanted suspense in every story but I'm trying to make different series' of stories. Hope you liked this one. Chapter 2 will be posted soon. Let me know which genre you'd like to read next.
