Amor's Cruelty
Just as leaves that fall from autumn branches,
She walked out the door like a passing wind,
Like chasing someone on burning bridges,
You need not be told that love is ruined.

I have payed to love it's unchanging wage,
Why then does she treat me like I owes't,
Cupid's arrow shot my heart with fad rage,
Mine bittie heart bleeds from cupid's missile guest.

But then the memories of fervour, flash,
And so the seeds of spring sprout in my soul,
For I search for beauty within the ash,
At the shrine of love I serve and extol.

Yet with all purpose and fidelity,
Amor has treated me with much cruelty.
